These will be followed by a private alpha release, which will remain in that stage for 2 months. Afterwards, a public beta will be released and remain in that stage for 1 month. These will be followed by Release Candidates for another 3 months. Lastly, a Final Release (1.0) will arrive.

The release will only include the DBAL for MySQL 4.x/5.x. Other DBALs will be produced by third party developers and included into subsequent releases. Further requirements will be added as systems are added, but will hopefully remain as minimal as possible (I’m thinking GD and/or ImageMagick, mod_rewrite for SEO, *Nix box for file/dir permissions).
